Free sprint capacity planning template (CSV)

Download a team CSV template with capacity points, PTO dates, and skills. Edit it in a spreadsheet and import it into the free planner.

Download the example CSV

The example contains two fictional teammates, Alex and Sam. It uses the planner’s actual import format. It is a team template, not a full sprint-plan backup or a spreadsheet with calculation formulas.

What each column means

member_name
A teammate’s name. Import updates an existing member with the same name, ignoring case.
role
A descriptive role such as Engineer or QA.
capacity_points_per_sprint
Your team’s baseline points for a full sprint. Replace the example values with your own estimates.
pto_dates
Inclusive ISO date ranges, such as 2026-10-15:2026-10-16. Separate ranges with semicolons.
skills
Skill and proficiency pairs separated by a vertical bar, such as Frontend:strong|Backend:working. Supported levels are beginner, working, strong, and expert.

Try the worked example

  1. Download the CSV and inspect it in Excel, Google Sheets, or a text editor. Keep the column headers unchanged and save as CSV.
  2. In the planner, create a member-based plan starting October 12, 2026 with 14 calendar days per sprint.
  3. Choose Import CSV, select the example file, and review the preview.
  4. Select that plan to map PTO dates, then apply the import.
  5. Alex contributes 16 points after two PTO weekdays; Sam contributes 15. The first sprint has 31 points of capacity.

For your real plan, change the sample dates to match your sprint before importing. If there is no plan yet, the importer keeps team data but needs a later re-import to map the PTO.

Before importing into an existing workspace

Rows update members by name. Review names to avoid changing the wrong teammate. Imports do not create work items or restore a complete plan. Exported PTO dates are reconstructed from counts, so keep your original leave record separately.

CSV files are processed in this browser. The spreadsheet service you choose has its own storage and privacy behavior. Read the PTO guide and workspace privacy explanation.
